Trump gave a short TV speech to the nation last night about the urgency of constructing an expensive, southern boarder wall to keep out Mexico’s (and Latin American’s) immigrants from entering the USA. Trump claims that these immigrants are unwanted and a threat to our society because they are basically criminals. The facts don’t agree with his statements (nothing new here, huh?). in fact, it has been reported multiple times that criminal activity among immigrants is substantially lower than among our native population.

Trump also cites that the influx of illegal drugs through America’s porous boarders will greatly decrease with his wall in place. The fact of the matter is that the vast majority of illegal drugs are smuggled through our checkpoints, not in between them.

The Democrats repeat that building Trump’s wall was initially claimed by Trump to get done with Mexico’s money. Yeah, right. That never got out of the starting gates. Now he claims that a “steel fence” wall will be sufficient. His arguments for the building of any of his proposed walls have more holes in them than any of his “steel fences.” Now Trump’s holding hostage (no pay for working) some 800,000 US Government workers until the “Dems’ capitulate. Further He threatens, that if he doesn’t get what he wants from the Democrats, he’ll get his wall money by declaring a national emergency. That might just be the straw that breaks his (impeachable?) back. Here’s hoping.

PS: There’s plenty of scriptures maintaining that we We Americans (via our government) should look out and be kindly to immigrants. I cite Hebrews 13:2, Leviticus 19:33-34, Ezekiel 16:49, Exodus 23:9, and Matthew 25:25-36. Wasn’t that a photo of Trump’s immigrant parents located in the background of his projected TV image?
