Here’s a little playful image contrived from a photo taken in the North Carolina mountains by wife, Doris (touché). That’s my flying leap pose from a gator photo opt done by the famous, late, sports photographer, Jim Laughhead. He was known for his ”huck ‘n’ buck” action shots. What a trip it was to be a featured player in one of his shoots.

Of course, the stitching on the football was altered to reflect my personal identity with Christianity. Problem was, I didn’t become a Christian till much later in life–well after my football career had petered out. I roomed with a Christian footballer at Florida, but unfortunately for me, little, if any, of his righteous behavior rubbed off on me. Not until my football career and first wife went south (almost simultaneously), did I hit rock bottom. That’s when I diligently searched and consequently found the foundational rock of life–Christ Jesus.

Oh, if I had only found Christ earlier in life, I know my decision making capabilities would have been greatly enhanced from that day forward. Presently, I’ve learned to be quite content while distancing myself somewhat from my former football identity. I surmise my painting passion helped me immensely in that distancing.

Unfortunately(?), this image reminds me of a bobble head.
