There’s more to being a Christian than just merely saying you’re one. Just because you say you don’t drink doesn’t make you one. And being a consistent church attendee (no Trump here) doesn’t necessarily make you one either.

Believing that Jesus is The Christ, the Son of God is the prerequisite starting point. From there, knowledgeable baptism for the remission of your sins should follow. Finally, a lifetime of striving to walk as Christ walked until His return.

I’m just trying to state simply, that if a person is just a pseudo Christian at best (lukewarm), he or she ought not to stage a religious photo-op insinuating that they are dead serious about their religion. Christians are to be known by the quality of the fruit that they bear. Trump’s fruit bearing leaves a lot to be desired. He thrives on divisiveness, ill-will, and outright lying innuendos (Colin Powell has recently stated that Trump is an habitual lair). In fact, Trump reminds me of the fig tree being cursed by Jesus because it didn’t bear fruit.

Which brings me to my main point: How can a man (president Trump, indeed) raise The Bible aloft in front of a church backdrop, seeking to further his reelection image, after having his pathway cleared of peaceful protesters by (almost) using our military to dispense tear gas and flash bangs for their removable? What’s a country to do with the likes of Donald Trump? Certainly, pray not for his reelection!

PS: If Trump is indeed holding the Bible aloft to signify his identification with the power of God, he is sadly mistaken. Jesus’ kingdom isn’t one that came about via (His) military might (although it could have been). If that were the case, our freewill would have been infringed upon. Forcing someone to believe in you is on a parallel with forcing a confession–invalid. Agape love (without underlying motivations) is Jesus’ plead to humanity. I see that love quality totally lacking in our present president. We (Americans) must have and deserve a president with a “heart condition” for all our people, not just for those he deems are worthy in his eyes only.
