Trump just came out yesterday (3/26/’24) hawking his 60 dollar “God Bless the USA Bibles”. This is the same day he stands to make over three billion from going public with his Truth Social, social media company.

Make no mistake about Trump’s motivation for exploiting his conservative, evangelic followers for all their worth. He’s a businessman’s manipulator to the nth degree. He’s Bible hawking to shore-up his kitty for paying off his criminal and civil trail loss assessments is tantamount to blasphemy (my opinion).

Trump talks about there ought to be a Bible in every American home. What good is a bible’s placement in a home, if one never reads it? And if one does, what good results if one doesn’t abide by its teachings? “I know people will say that you’re not supposed to mix the Bible and the Constitution, but what you have to understand is Trump has never read either of them.” — JORDAN KLEPPER

I guess Trump forgot to read the commandment that “Thou shall not commit adultery.” He just got convicted of rape and sentenced to pay 84 million in restitution. Now he faces a trail on a porn star’s accusation of sexual intimacy, which he flatly denies. He even denies paying her 130,000 to keep her quiet before the 2016 election. This is all after he cheated on Marla Maples, his second wife.

Trump, in a nutshell, will do anything to make a buck. Even profane God’s book by masquerading as a professing, practicing Christian with his “snake-oil” type of photo ops.“Religion and Christianity are the biggest things missing from this country,” Mr. Trump said. Later, he added, “We must make America pray again.” I’d say about that statement that Christianity isn’t missing from America. It’s missing from Trump. You can’t be a figurehead for religion (i.e. Christianity) and not be a practicing participant. It’s hypocrisy, clear and simple.

And you can’t and shouldn’t think that you have the (God-given) right to make (coerce) someone to pray. Jesus didn’t edit people to pray; he suggested that they do so. Trump’s bible includes copies of The Constitution, The Bill of Rights, The Declaration of Independence, and The Pledge of Allegiance. He’s attempting to fuse Christianity (White Christian Nationalism) into a governmental religion that cunningly by-passes Democracy. Especially the democracy of people of color.

Ironically, Trump’s the first one to blame America’s justice branch of government for nearly all his criminal and civil indictments. He praises America’s system of government on one hand and discredits it on the other the second it doesn’t rule in his favor. Duh, what’s new?

“If we step back and look at this, Trump getting into business with God can only mean one thing: God is going to end up bankrupt and serving a three-month prison sentence for lying under oath.” — JORDAN KLEPPER

Trump’s being apparently led by some Christian influences, but what he proclaims to be and what his actions indicate are a far cry from toeing the path of Christianity. The apostle Paul got a blinding, first-person (Jesus), encounter on his way to Damascus, which led to his Christian conversion, a scant three days later.

Make no mistake, Trump’s no Paul in disguise, no matter how many evangelics, try as they night, to convince us that his reckoning is from a divine source (God Almighty?). If in fact, Trump’s now a Christian, why isn’t he owning up to all the lies he has used to cover-up all of his past unrighteousness? Instead, he’s voiced that if he’s reelected in 2024 as President of the US, his first course of business is to seek revenge on all the people who opposed him on so many issues. Haven’t you read in your daily Bible reading, Trump, that vengeance is the Lord’s?
