The black communities have gotten the short end of the stick (of the American pie life) since they were brought to America as slaves. Yeah, they’ve progressed exponentially since they were freed, but their present lot still lags far behind in all areas of social equality in comparison to America’s white populous.

Yet, their accomplishments in athletics and the entertainment industry, in particular, are unequaled. And African Americans in these areas are placed upon pedestals far from the reach of the negative results that systemic racism has on the majority of their lesser positioned brothers and sisters.

And I’m white to the core, but a honest enough to admit that people of color don’t get a fair shake in their dealings with a number white folks, who have been wrongly indoctrinated into their own white superiority from birth.
