Ammunition

Yeah, that’s a bunch of spent ammunition symbolizing the aftermath carnage of America’s many mass shootings. There are various specific motives for the killings, but most boil down to simple hate and/or pride. Some motives we’ll never know because the perpetrators were killed while killing. One thing for sure we do know and believe: Assault type weapons (AR-15s and AK-47s) have no place in the hands of uncivilized men who call themselves civilized. Background checks must be mandatory for any gun purchase. And, any potential mental health issues must be addressed before it’s too late.

Too bad (for Americans) the NRA still holds such political power over Mr. Trump. I would think that the mass killing survivors in particular and their families, who pray constantly for gun control, would more than compensate for the NRA’s political influence. Does our sitting president care more about his reelection than protecting the safety of Americans and their children? It looks that way to me–how about you? Tell me if I’m wrong. Does any NRA hunter need an AR-15 (bump stock?) rifle to shoot a defenseless deer?

More gun laws, more backgrounds checks? Maybe. But what about the thousands being killed in our cities each year; Chicago, Baltimore, Detroit, Pittsburgh. Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in the land.

Perhaps we need to bring God back into our lives. For years we have told God we didn’t want Him in our schools, our government, etc. He was being a perfect gentleman in doing just what we asked him to do. We need to make up our mind, do want God or not. We cannot just ask Him when disasters strike.

…if My people who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will head from Heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Chronicles 7: 14

    • Chuck,
I couldn’t agree more on your Biblical take on my painting, Ammunition. Thanks for your thought process. I play Ping Pong with a couple of guys on Saturdays. One is 15 years younger and the other is five years older than me (at 75). I manage to teach them some manners most of the time, but I don’t know how long I’ll be able to hold the fort down. Anyway, I’m happy to be able to even play.
