Yeah, that’s Andy Warhol’s double Elvis image in cowboy garb, but I took the liberty of superimposing photos of Putin and Christ the Redeemer’s head along with a carpenter’s belt of tools..

Jesus said His Kingdom is not of this world (John 18:36). So if you were to ask whether or not Jesus would be packing (carry a gun on His person) today, the likely answer is no. He didn’t ask His disciples to defend Him, and He immediately healed the cut-off ear of the arresting soldier in the garden. He didn’t call ten thousand that were at His command to rescue Him from His crucifixion. Jesus asks Christians to turn the other cheek when assaulted physically and/or otherwise. And to love your enemies.

Now it’s understandable that we’re not Jesus. God didn’t call us (Christians) to die on behalf of mankind. Jesus did that for us. And since He did, we (Christians) must show our gratitude by attempting to walk as He walked. Yes, we Christians have a right to defend ourselves, and if a Christian wanted to pack, I see no problem with that from a Christian standpoint of view. But to say that it is un-Christian not to pack, is a bit of a stretch of my imagination.

More guns in the hands of more people computes to more deaths–period. Are the second amendment gun advocates worried that Americans won’t have enough guns to overthrow our Federal government if need be? Hey, this is the 21 Century. The time has long passed since the citizens of the US have at their individual disposal enough fire power to mount a government overthrow. Although, it isn’t impossible.

Jesus was a carpenter at some point in his life. Be it was short lived. He nailed the cutting nails of his crossed coffin Himself by consenting to go to the cross of crucifixion for all of mankind to have a chance for redemption.
