Well for sure these nineteen Uvalde students of Robb Elementary aren’t going to return to their respective homes–at least not alive that is. You can’t thank the local police force and other gun carrying personnel for immediately sacrificing their bodies to save these youths cornered at gunpoint. Why? Because they didn’t act, for whatever reason, for well over an hour before confronting the shooter in the classroom. That hesitation, again for whatever reasons, no doubt, cost youthful lives.
How many men do you need for backups to take down a lone shooter? Certainly not hundreds that were finally assembled. That is, if they’re willing, ready, and able, to do their job–with or without consent from higher-ups. Too many chiefs on scene makes for limited decision making.
Of course it mattered exponentially that the shooter was able to enter the school building through a side door that wasn’t locked because it had apparently been broken for some time. Details, details, details. If you don’t cover (procrastinate) the little things in life, they have a way of coming back to bite you with a vengeance.
The shooter just turned eighteen and brought the weapons legally. If the Republicans and their NRA bedfellows had helped to advance the age from 18 to 21 to buy weapons and had helped the Democrats to pass legislation for stricter background checks, that may have given the shooter time to mature enough to not want to do his dastardly deed.Republicans you can’t have it both ways. It’s either guns or kids, and right now, it looks as though your guns are trumping your kids–make that killing your kids.
Tell me, could the Republicans and the NRA exist sans their precious Constitutional 2nd Amendment Rights?
