Congressman John Robert Lewis passed away July 17, 2020. He was a tenacious driving force in the civil rights movement of the 60s, and savagely beaten by the authorities’ policing forces while peacefully proceeding over the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama. He was also a freedom rider, and an Atlanta Congressman for some 33 years. He’s been arrested for his beliefs and peaceful protesting 45 times. He’s often referred to as “Mr. Good Trouble.”

Trump basically paid him little mind–even in his death. OK, Trump had our flag lowered to half-mast, but only for a couple of days and not until John’s interment–until pressed to do so. Trump passed on John’s funeral out of what I call disrespect. After all John was a Democrat, and we all know how Trumps disrespects them DEMS.

I find it both laughable and ironic that BLACK LIVES MATTER was painted in bright yellow on the roadway fronting Trump Tower. Trump, of course, isn’t a fan of the #Black Lives Matter movement because deep down he’s got white supremacy written all over his heart. That’s probably why Trump has said that Black Lives Matter is a hate group. Moreover, he’s got no reservations about sending in the (unmarked) federal forces to viciously tramp-down our predominately, peaceful protesters. This is happening only in the cities with Democratic mayors who are emphatically requesting Trump and his henchmen to keep out!

Trump’s law and order tactic is nothing new to attract, in particular, white rural and suburban voters. Trump’s literally pulling out all the stops in order to find something positive in his re-election campaign that will stick to the voters’ ribs. My opinion is that having to eat Trump’s burnt BBQ for four years is swiftly turning the tide towards Biden’s way of thinking. And rightly so, I might add.

Yeah, obviously I’m in favor of the Edmund Pettus Bridge being renamed to honor John Robert Lewis (Mr. Good Trouble).
