Our teachers are in between a rock and a hard place. They are damned (possibly to their and/or their children’s death) if they do teach in a school setting this fall, and could possibly loose their jobs if they don’t show up to teach because Trump mandated that the nation’s schools be reopened for business this fall.
Trump jumped the gun once before by pushing our country to reopen too soon from the coronavirus. That, no doubt, caused a lot of unnecessary deaths. We are still feeling the consequences of that premature reopenning, which have resulted in the coronavirus increasing exponentially this summer. Now he’s going to demand we do it again–reopen too soon. What’s a teacher to do up against a tyrant?
PS: I chose to pixelate the teacher’s eyes leaving her identify in question, so as not to jeopardize her job by her publically speaking out about our government’s tyrannical presidential edicts.
