Vladimir Putin is responsible for war atrocities across the board–non-combatants–mothers, children and the elderly alike. I know, he’s not about to pickup the dead his armies have caused, but he’ll have to account for these atrocities, if not, while alive, then in death (hopefully both).

Right now, Putin’s got an open carry permit (self issued) because of his nuclear weapons arsenal acting as an ace-in-the-hole backup. No country wants to force him into a military corner for fear he’ll retaliate with nuclear missiles.

This idea of open carry recently furthered by Texas lawmakers (and not rejected by SCOTUS) isn’t going to help America’s gun problem. Just because you’re allowed to carry open arms, doesn’t mean you should. All things may be permissible, but not all things are beneficial. I Cor. 10:23 Yes, you have an American constitutional right to bear arms (to protect yourself and others), but the negative impact of internet ultra right-wingers has placed our citizens in an offensive minded mindset. Just recently, black women are purchasing guns at an alarming rate just for their immediate protection. Shoot first and ask questions later wasn’t a quote from Jesus. And neither was an eye for an eye of the Old Testament.

It’s a fine line we Christians walk between being commanded (by Jesus) to love our enemies and feeling we must prepare protection from them in advance.
