Yeah, there’s a lot going on in this painting, but I’m not apologizing. It needs to be repeatedly said–visually also. The eagle is known to fish on the fly by merely grasping his catch in his massive, outstretched claws. Christ does so similarly. HE’LL pluck the saved (Christians) from the promised worldly destruction that awaits the unbelieving lost.

So, a head likeness of Christ the Redeemer stature in Rio has been superimposed over the eagle’s head. Christ’s Christian catch clutched in His claws is the universal, stylized fish symbol for identifying the saved in Christ.

The consequences of Christ’s blessed return in the clouds happens immediately. In the twinkle (OK, blink) of an eye (represented here by the godly “space” eye) and at the last trumpet sound (of a shofar/ram’s-horn), the dead in Christ shall resurrect and ascend to be with the Lord awaiting them in the clouds. Then, the living Christians shall follow.

Even Jesus Himself isn’t privy to when His return (The Rapture) will take place. Only His Father, Jehovah, knows. Still, it’s very doubtful that we aren’t now experiencing the end times. Those who are ready (the saved in Christ Jesus) say, “Come quickly, Lord Jesus.” I’ll amen that!
