India’s Covid-19 variant problem is totally unprecedented. Four hundred thousand people per day are now being infected. The crematory pyres are never extinguished. Ongoing 24/7. India doesn’t have the health manpower nor the necessary supplies to put a dent into its death devastation.

India, like so many other nations, didn’t properly acknowledge Covid’s death threat early on, and consequently, they were totally unprepared for Covid’s onslaught. Now, the world is gathering its health resources to shore-up India’s inadequate health care response.

I pray for that nation’s recovery, and I ask that you so also. (The lesson here is infectious diseases are no respecter of people nor nations). When you carry your umbrella (mask-up, socially distance, and inoculate), it’s less likely to rain (death) on your parade–don’t you know?

I’d like to think that those cradle praying hands belong to a Christian even though India is predominately otherwise. I can only hope. (The slightly transparent, white body bag for some reason reminds me of our Lord, Jesus, (before His incarnation) walking around in white attire, accompanying, if not downright saving, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in King Nebuchadnezzar’s fiery furnace).
