The Statue of Liberty stands as a beacon of hope, especially for the downtroden masses of humanity seeking to better their senario of just meager existence. But with America’s present administration, giving perspective immigrants the benefit of the doubt and due process of law to stay in our country seems to be totally out of the question. In fact, the super aggressive arrest and deportation methods used by Trump’s ICE men have been likened to Germany’s Gestapo tactics.

Almost all the “Blue” states reject this federal override of ICE and military intervention into their respective states. Unfortunately, the USA could easily be called the “Divided States of America.” But fortunately, having the wherewithal to be divided is, in essence, a tenet of democracy, in and of itself.
