Yeah, that’s a typical Bill Cosby facial pose probably depicting how much he enjoys the taste of Jell-O (TV commercial he did for the product). But here I’ve got him basting in his celebrity status halo (which happens to be a common toilet seat). His sexual assault (in one form or another) on 60 females (and counting), who have come forward in the #MeToo movement to identify him as a predator, has quickly led to his demise as a famous celebrity. None he’s infamous. “You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all of the time.” Abraham Lincoln said that. So sang Bob Dylan.
That’s a detail of Van Gogh’s Starry Night (more specifically, Starry Fall?) painting flushing the aged Cosby down the drain–where he belongs. Surrounding the toilet image is just a few on the many named victims who have had the courage to come forward in the #MeToo movement.
It doesn’t matter the good you may do for others outwardly, if your (Hollywood star) power corrupts you inwardly. Better to live a more conservative lifestyle and ready yourself for the real estate in the heavenly realm, than to damn the torpedoes of hell with a full steam ahead into the consequences of scheming in this world. This is not to imply that we can earn our way into salvation–we can’t! But we (Christians) do good works as outward gratitude for the assurance of being saved that comes from accepting Christ Jesus as our savior from the eternal condemnation of our sins. Amen? Amen.
