Florida’s governor’s Ron DeSantis just signed a bill that prohibits the teaching of anything that is remotely close to mentioning LBGTQ subject matter in Florida’s primary grades (K-3). This bill (nicknamed, “Don’t Say Gay”) provides safeguards for parents to have control over what is being taught in their child’s classroom–at least at the beginning of their child’s education. The bill also allows for the parents to be able to sue a teacher that crosses the gender threshold too early in a child’s education. Score one for the religious right at the expense of our Constitutional right of equality for all.

Long established Christian values are fighting an apparent up-hill battle verses the equality laws of our Constitution and Bill of Rights. The marriage of gays is detestable from a Christian God’s viewpoint. You can’t sugarcoat it. And you can’t compromise it. It is what it is. Because He (Jehovah, Jesus and The Holy Spirit) is what He is.

The religious right seeks to bring its Christian values into the making of our laws. And as a Christian myself, I value that effort. But we must be very careful not to make the laws so favoring our Christian beliefs that it leaves little to no room for individual choice. Mans’ freewill choice is a God-giver innate asset. God Himself doesn’t infringe upon it. What right does mere men have? If God can limit His work to behind the scenes (Devine Providence), why can’t man too? Each time you take away from man’s freewill, you are, in fact, limiting his freewill–theoretically, until a point where there is no freewill at all.

So I say let the LBGTQ community have their choices of lifestyles. Just don’t force anyone else to agree by the passing of manmade laws of equality. We’re all accountable when the trumpet sounds at Jesus’ return. Bear that in mind while you still have an opportunity to choose rightly–and Godly–for your sake and take in eternity–either up there in thin air or way down in the hole of hell.
