The Book of Genesis 1:1 states that in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:2 states that the earth was formless and void. Evidently, God (His Son, Jesus, more specifically), was responsible for bringing this (formless) matter into existence from nothingness. And maybe in as little as a nanosecond of time later or a thousand years later (equaling one day), Jesus brought forth light through the darkness. Once light appeared, the colors of matter (and more specifically Earth itself) became visually noticeable from their previous dark, non–illumination. Jesus is often compared to this light that illuminated the darkness. People often think of our sun providing this illumination, but when everything is burned–up, the new heavens and the new earth will find its new illumination emanating from the Son, Jesus–only!

In my image I’ve attempted to represent this happening by a random mixture of abstract lines and shapes with shards of intense white light piercing through this, once, darkness void of masses. Jesus spoke creation into existence with the go ahead from His Father, Jehovah; hence, the positioning of all the above over His mouth specifically.

Scientists talk of a “Big Bang” creation theory. What stronger force is there in the universe to make it happen than the builder of the house itself–Jesus? And, any builder of a house has greater honor than the house (the universe in this case) itself. Hebrews 3:3,4. So, yes, I ascribe to (a) “Big Bang Theory.” God’s!

My thanks to Romanian sculpture Gheorghe Leonida for fashioning the Art Deco face of Jesus (of Christ the Redeemer Rio statue), which likeness I used for some of my design.
