Yeah, that’s Jesus leading the way out of harm’s way for these immigrants. Maybe not physically, in their moment of time, but when it really counts, after their deaths (and ours , too), His accepting all of our iniquities at His crucificsion in order to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. A debt we could never pay, only to be covered by the only person who had the wherewithall to willing cover it on our behalfs.
