As Christians, we’re cautioned in the scriptures not to speculate on the date that Christ will return. Not only do we not know, but even Christ Himself does not know. (Matt. 24:38) Only The Father knows. And that, in and of itself, is a “good” thing, since we Christians are to be sober-minded in readiness for His return.
This past Sunday, our preacher, Ralph Walker, sang a verse from Carly Simon’s Anticipation cut to set the stage for his sermon on how important it is for Christians to always have a presents of mind in order to have a “present of anticipation” for Jesus’ final coming again. We should always be conducting ourselves in such a manner that we wouldn’t be embarrassed and shameful of what we are presently doing when He returns in the clouds.
