The GOP courts the evangelical vote and claims to be the party of God. Yeah, right. More like the “unofficial” party of God-at best. And their appointed leader (2024 presidential nominee, Trump) is about the most un-Christian person in his character and doings that has ever come down the pike. Trump’s criminal and civil indictments don’t raise a negative eyebrow from his loyal followers. Go figure. I’m not ecstatic about Biden’s stance on abortion and LGBTQ+ rights, but at least he attends church religiously. Biden separates his personal, religious views from what our Constitution states. We Americans would do well to do the same. I think we call it separation of church from state. Remember, our government cannot push a particular religion upon its people.
Obama claims It’s a different election from when he became president. In the past, any one of Trump’s indiscretions, be it criminal or otherwise, would have easy disqualified a presidential candidate. But not these days. What have we Americans been duped to settle for?
