Our Liberty Bell is a symbol of our democracy, but lately, the Republicans (Ron DeSantis especially) have been clanging some hard-fought rights out of our bell. And along with that happening, our democracy takes a hit. But I’m with them (The Republicans) on restricting abortion and LBGTQ+ rights. That’s respectively backed up by Bible scripture and SCOTUS’ decision to overturn Roe v Wade.

But while diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are good aspects in and of themselves, today’s leeway for personal identity takes on a whole new meaning that I’m just not comfortable with. And that has a lot to do with my Bible beliefs about who is going to be eligible for eternal life in heaven as opposed to hell.

But what concerns me the most is CRT and wokeness that Ron DeSantis, seemingly, arbitrarily ascribes to anyone not adhering to his way of thinking. I’m sorry, teaching black slave history, without any frosting, is as essential to American history as apple pie–make that chitlins. History is history. CRT shouldn’t be changed or slanted by our elected officials. It’s most important that we know all of it (Black history especially) in order not to repeat the mistakes of the past. DEI shouldn’t be erased by politicians. Although I’m not a fan of the LGBTQ+ people, they still have a right under our Constitution to their eternal doomful behavior (remember the reasons why God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah).
