Nice shinny tall, stately skyscrapers played off against leaky old tents of the homeless is for most America’s larger cities its most embarrassing problem. Solving it is complicated, to say the least, but the financial Inequity in our nation is as obvious as the nose on our faces.

Jesus was born in a stable, and although He allegedly had a house, He was without it the majority of his ministry. He identified and was certainly an advocate for the poor much more so than the rich. So whatever the city authorities don’t get done for feeding and sheltering of the homeless poor of our nation, they didn’t get it done for Jesus either. And we’re no better as individuals either.

I often shutter when thinking about how we are to assimilate all these immigrants freely flowing into our country, when we can’t even adequately accommodate the homeless homesteading the sidewalks of our nation right now.

Congress has to get their shit together on our immigration policies–like yesterday! Forget that Mr.Trump has cautioned Republicans against passing a recent by-patrician bill to help solve the immigration problem until he becomes the next president (wishful thinking). Help is desperately needed now. And not the kind of help in any way shape or form that is kind to the immigrants–legal or otherwise.

FYI: Yes that’s a “tented” stylized manger scene of the birth of Jesus. Jesus said the birds of the air have their nest and the foxes their dens, but He had no where to lay His head. And likewise, these homeless people don’t either.
