A painting of the primary setting of my teenage life running the Sea-Sea Motel with my two sisters, mom, and grandparents in Ormond Beach, Florida. We had numerous BBQ’s in those treasured times. The trailer on the airplane reads: 2 for 1 Macs Famous Bar. One of the bygone gin mills in Daytona Shores. As a kid it was one of my chores to load the coke machine located on the open pavilion to the middle left of the painting. Shrimp boats fished close to shore back then, but are almost non existent now. We could catch any number of crabs at night at the ocean’s edge for a quick crab salad, but now there’s not one left to even bite you. You catch a glimpse of the life guard tower thru the middle of the pavilion. Whatever sibling got there first in the early evening, got dibs on the elevated seats for the submarine races!
