My wife and I live in Tampa, FL. We’re both over 65 and yesterday we had our first opportunity to receive our first dosage of Pfizer vaccine. We had appointments and were five cars behind getting past a marked entrance lane gate, manned by a real person. As we approached, the attendant let two more cars through only to start turning them around and directing the rest elsewhere. Unfortunately for us, that elsewhere was everywhere we we didn’t want to be–namely at the very end of any number of other University Mall entrances that were completely stacked up. It took us three hours at barely creeping speed to finally get in position for our shots. What an absloute nightmare! People were cutting in cars lines at will and bird gesturing one another at length.

One of the major problem seemed to be that people (obviously older) were let through who didn’t have a scheduled appointment time. And, second dose receivers were thrown in with us, who hadn’t even received their first dosage. Go figure. All this bedlam (and do it again for a second time) to make our patriotic contribution to herd immunity. Still, we’re firm believers in doing our part to quell the pandemic.
