It doesn’t necessarily take a bullet to kill someone; it’s just more expedient. What can bring an individual to point and shoot results from a slow-cooked hatred brewing from within. This hatred of others, usually different looking than yourself, stems from multiple sources like racism, white supremacy, wanting to keep the status quo, etc, etc, etc. African Americans have been gasping for the social air of freedom long before Covid-19 took their breaths away. We (whites) might want to stop and ponder the fact that we could have as easily been born black as white. From a black’s perspective, we might begin to understand why they’re been protesting against the injustices dealt them since the Civil War.
And having a president say that the BLACK LIVES MATTER movement is all a hoax makes him all the more unappealing to represent for a second term all Americans–regardless of the color of their skin.
