The viability of the fetus is approximately at two thirds of the pregnancy cycle (22/24 weeks). Not until God breathed the breath of life into man did he become a living soul. Between a living soul and initial conception is a vast amount of territory to try to discern if any and/or all abortions are sinful murder–according to scripture–or even man’s feeble interpretations of such. I’ve got to side on the conservatives on this one issue. Life’s precious. Even in its beginning stages.

And there’s seems to be ample possibilities for placing an unwanted baby in a family of wanting parents. But outright outlawing abortions across the board is going to force women (particularly poor women) into back-alley, coat hanger remedies, which places the mother’s lives in greater jeopardy. You squeeze the anti-abortion balloon at one end and the opposite end pops out. Still, honoring the newly conceived embryo by not destroying it is, in my opinion, the best avenue running parallel to the Christian God’s thinking.
