The Brandenburg Gate has come to represent freedom breaking the bonds of tyranny. I can’t help but think that our Creator had a hand in the November 9th, 1989 removal of the Berlin Wall by allowing Ronald Reagan, a professed Christian, to say, “Mr. Gorbachev, open this gate! Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!” Ironically, one Republican president calls for a wall to fall, while another (Trump) calls for one to be built. The first illuminates darkness; the second calls for darkness. Go figure. (In a round about way, this reunification of East and West Germany reminds me of the gate to salvation being swung wide open for the gentiles also).

Jesus may not be working obvious miracles anymore, but be rest assured, He’s working behind the scenes (Divine Providence) to accomplish His and His Father’s purposes. (The fortifications morphing into jacks reminds me of the scripture: “…and they beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks…(Isaiah 2:4)
