Everyone is familiar with the expression “you can’t see the forest through the trees,” meaning so many times we get caught up in the details so easily that we often fail to see the big, more important picture of our discussion. This couldn’t be truer than when we get into the various denominations of the Christian religion. God doesn’t give us a particular road map to guide us to eternity. It’s more like a compass pointing us in the right direction.
One sect says one thing, and another refutes it. You really have to school yourself in scripture to know who’s telling you the truth. Meanwhile, settle for simplicity: I suggest Romans 6:32 or John 3:16.
