Recently, Donald Trump accepted Qatar’s 400 million Boeing 747-B “flying plaice” as a gift. His acceptance goes against our laws forbidding the acceptance of gifts from foreign governmental sources. Especially foreign sources that have had conflicts of interest in regard to our foreign policies.

Trump tweeted it’s no different than America accepting the Stature of Liberty from France. Yeah, right. I beg to differ. And so do a lot of other people, including some of his own die-hard Republicans.

The Statue of Liberty was given to America as a token of gratitude for American’s liberation of France from Nazi occupation. Trump’s motivation for acceptance probably has everything to do with what he can get out of these ultra wealthy oligarchs on his personal behalf.
