Trump wants a grandiose military parade, like none other in our history (probably of the world for that matter) to celebrate the Army’s 250th. Of course there’s an ulterior motive behind Trump’s edict: June 14, is also Trump’s 79th birthday. How convenient is that? He certainly isn’t going to pass up an opportunity to ride on the bandwagon of praise via our military.
The parade itself is going to cost millions of the taxpayers’ money. Not to mention the millions that would have to be spent to repair the DC roads from the destruction caused by parading our MI tanks.
Wouldn’t it be better usage of our money to supplement the most venerable members of our society? You know the very ones who were already either homeless and/or on Medicaid when their programs were cut drastically by Elon Mask’s chain-saw initiatives. Many will not survive.
But, regardless of morality and equality, America’s biggest show to flex its military power (and Trump’s 79th) must go on–right? Yeah, right.
Trump, If you actually read the Bible you were holding up in a photo-op in front of a church marquee, then you’d know that King David was warned by Joab against taking a census. “Pride comes before destruction.”
The parallel account in 1 Chronicles 21 says, “Satan rose up against Israel and incited David to take a census of Israel.” The record in Chronicles places this right after a great victory over the Philistines, so the sin was probably related to a problem with pride and self-reliance.
